Well well, a new rumor arises and it’s about the future of EA? Sweet! So a Japanese gaming company Nexon, is interested in EA? Oh yeah, that’s the rumor. How sweet would it be it if was true?
That sounds terrible. 🙁
A company that primarily makes MMO/online games?
Er… online only, subscription fees, more micro-transactions, probably no more CC ever–I could foresee that. That would suck.
I think it would be bad for the sims franchise. Let’s hope it don’t happen till we get seasons and universities.
Then there’s the sims 4. If this happens we can kiss that goodbye.
I doubt that will happen. EA wouldn’t be stupid enough to sell out their entire company.
And if they do, I’d be pissed off. Not because I’m a fan of EA. But because EA has the rights to some of my favorite series.
To put it simple, I don’t want to see a Korean Need For Speed, or a Korean The Sims game(s).
And do any of you realize, gaming on the whole was developed and exists as it is today because of japanese innovation? without it, there would not be nintendo, playstation, x-box (which is microsoft, but they did it to keep up with console gaming) and how isn’t EA going MMO all by their lonesome, the whole online uni of all their game titles? it makes you wonder if they weren’t trying to get Nexon’s attention.

But at the same time you could argue that European and American gaming innovated just as much, and the Nintendo are just reacting to the competition. There is no particular nation who are ‘the best’ at making or publishing video games.
If Nexon were to buy EA, which I doubt will happen, I hope they massively change aspects of the company. Reasonable prices would be a start.
That’s funny because their (Nexon) have terribad customer service. Many people I know who play their games tend it avoid it like the plague. Hope you enjoy waiting 4 to 5 months possibly a year or two to get a reply out from them.
Considering what a clusterf$&* of a state EA is in at the moment it would be nice for it to be whipped into line by a company whose culture would not tolerate the half-heartedness being put into the franchise. If this truly happens then we’d most likely get games that are far less glitchy and incomplete.
I’m all for it.
Nexon is millions of times worse than EA. While I’ve had problems with EA and the customer support, I’d never wish a Nexon takeover on them.
Not to mention the upkeep of Nexon’s games (all on the micro “free-to-play” transaction model) are terrible. If it’s not their cash cows, Maple Story or Vindictus, they could careless.
Unfortunately for me, I played one of their lesser games, Mabinogi. Two years is the average wait time for support tickets for that game. Even if it’s to report hacking or bugs and glitches.
nexon is Korea company.
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s Korean company.
Not Japanese.
In a way, this would be interesting – but I think they’d ruin some franchises we like.

Any company that leaves America is bad for America. I have not and will not support foreign gaming companies.
Never heard of Nexon before..

Why can’t a company with good customer support and better compatability (And no goddamned Origin) buy out EA?
