Sims-3.net has just released a new article about the Generations event in Germany. There is lots of new info. Thanks to Sims Nieuws for the tip.
-Note- the article is translated by Google.
*Edit* – One of our readers – wolak2302 – was extremely kind enough to send in an email with a better translation – thanks Wolak!
- There’s no new town in Sims 3 Generations, everything happens In Sunset Valley. There are no new rabbit holes, but EA added 10 new lots to place in your town, for example Playground (and where are we suppose to do that?)
- New spiral staircase added, also new type of windows
- Cant translate it but think that the memories system will work without Generations (I think)
- Customizing body hair in CAS
- Careers from Ambitions are extended
- New profession added – Baby sitter (running a day care). Any sims can leave a child with you in specific hours. Babysitters also need to babysit bad children which brawl, and for that there’s a new trait – protective (or it will be called different)
- Can’t translate the next one but I think it says that thanks to the science lab in your home you can make potions that help you with fast learning
- If teens have played a trick on neighbors, they can escape the punishment by drinking Ninja Vanish-Potion which they produced in the chemistry kit. (They teleport home)
- The video camera. When using it, you see everything like you’re sim does in the game. Anything that you have recorded will be stored in your inventory and you can watch it later on the tv.
- The imaginary friend is a new creature in Generations. This creature with fancy pants, different shoes and a glowing light bulb above his head is very interesting. Kids can have them as a friend in their contacts (relationships), but they need to spend a lot of time with their doll. With you’re imaginary friend you can tell jokes or have a pillow fight (!). Thanks to the chemistry kit your friend can stop being unreal.
- Our sim dream changes. Different types of stories can affect the way that you’re sim sleeps at night. For example he/she/it heard spooky stories he/she/it will have nightmares. (Story told of course with a flashlight)
- One of the new objects is bunk beds. Kids and adults can use it. (If you haven’t read the last info there are 2 types of bunk beds – 1st that you can have a bed under a bed and the 2nd that you can have a sofa or a desk under the bed)
- Strollers of course are usable, don’t worry it’s not a decorative object.
- Tree houses also added in Generations. You’re kids can play pirates or whatever they do there. They can drop balloons with water and hang a pirate flag in the tree house
- Water slide is usable by kids, adult and so on (I think they mean the slide which you can see in the trailer, no slide for the pool)
- If you’re having a wild party, cops can interrupt it. They’re no real cops, they are just fueling he party with atmosphere only.
Proper translation? Bad grammar cannot be easily deciphered.
Thanks. Some details are hard to classify. I can’t understand some of them.
The one about the skills. There are no skills?
Oh. I hope they would make dancing a real skill, not just a hidden one.
o dear, no new city 🙁 thank god i made my own complete remake of sunset valley, now i’ll just have to update the new lots. i think i’d ****** explode if i had to play with the same old boring Sunset Valley.
(if anybody wants my version of SV, look for “Green Valley” in sims3forums)
OMG a fail…no new town? I personally hate Sunset valley -.- And if they will add new town to store.. I won´t pay another 2000 simpoints for a town that should be included in EP .
Awesome Details 😀
I cant wait not more :/
So, there is a new world or not?
From the way I read that there is no new world. Just Sunset Valley with updates. So I guess that makes it a semi-new world lol.
Was just wishing earlier that EA would update the the worlds they gave us to match each new expansion so we are not forced into using the new one or waiting for our favorite worlds to be updated.
look at it this way. no new world/modified SV=more content. That and NO new rabbit holes! so cool!
Thanks blackscorpion for the translation of the translation, lol. I looked at the article and gave up.
Kinda disapointed there’s no new town but oh well…still sounds like a great ep with all the new features. 🙂
if i was fluent in German i could give you a perfect translation, but i’m not so i can’t. However i can translate the translation. 🙂
which ones?
there’s a skill that goes with the chem set and maybe a dancing skill. the latter is just a guess because kids can take a dancing class.
skills:
Chem
Video Camera
No new town?? So this is like a stuff pack? They’re giving us less and less!
Link… ??
Does everyone really want a town that bad? It was OK for the city, but I like to use the expansions with my existing families, so that’s fine by me. I’d have to start putting files on my desktop soon to use all the different accounts. The babysitter career sounds… interesting, but I think the main point of that should be to make it so teens don’t “nanny” during school hours. It’s odd. I’d like to be able to use family/friends to babysit also.
•Can’t translate the next one but I think it says that thanks to the science lab in your home you can make potions that help you with fast learning
That part about skills:
There will be no new skills, but you need those already in the game for the chemistry set (maybe cooking or logic) to make potions or to have a good relationship with your imaginary friend (I guess charm)
there will be new skills
No new town= no new townies. this is fantastic.
According to the original article, there won’t be.
The whole no town thing just seems like laziness to me, unless they are going to physically expand Sunset Valley (Which is impossible at this point). They obviously spent the past 6 months doing something, but I doubt it was making this game. The game isn’t out yet, and I for one am not hyped at all. I loved the idea of Ambitions, Late Night, and heck even World Adventures, but something about Generations (probably the lack of a structured theme) just turns me away. By lack of structured theme, I mean pretty much everything in this game -could- have been released with the base game. Other things (like the new boarding schools would have made cool rabbitholes, but now their outsourced and you can’t even see them! What an awesome feature!!) (sarcasm) Really the only new concepts in this game are the imaginary friends, some parties, strollers, and a video camera. Well I can only imagine how much time and effort was put into these. Cannot wait to get the expansion.
I agree with above poster. Unfortunately it seems to be shaping up to be a very meager ep, a huge let down. The features are simply not enough for a whole EP devoted to it. They aren’t including enough and are acting like throwing us a few interactions + items: crappy bed, etc is enough to warrant a whole new ep. Ridiculous! And because they know many fans want some more interactions with sims (which should have been included from DAY ONE) – they know many of us will shell out all that $ for a bare bones meager little ep. Just sad. At this point if they did a weather ep – can you imagine how ‘bare bones’ and full of crap it would be?
there’s always new skills. today thesims3(uk) facebook page will share some info, then on Tuesday everyone else will share what they found out at the many events. Pics, vids and info.
Awesome
Some more info on the translations (sorry for my bad english 🙂
There are no new skills, but you will need old ones to use the chemistry set properly.
The cop will be of the kind that makes parties more interesting. The wording suggests stripper? Would fit a bachelor party or hen’s night.
