The Sims 4 Cottage Living Expansion Pack was announced yesterday by EA, and it’s looking one one of the most exciting expansions in quite a long time.

With all of the hype surrounding the pack, SimGuruRomeo has took to Twitter to confirm some important information about what to expect from the expansion.

From his main tweet, we know that horses are not in Cottage Living because of the technical undertaking to achieve this. He has also confirmed that your Sims will not be able to swim in the ponds, which are finally coming to The Sims 4, however there will be gameplay such as splashing on the pond edges or catching fish.

He was also asked about whether you can customise the new animals in Create A Sim, such as foxes or cows. It has been confirmed that they are not available in CAS however you can purchase various colours of cows, chickens and llamas.

Touching the pond tool, he was able to confirm that this will be added into the base game free of charge in a game update – so you’ll be able to take advantage of this whether you get the new expansion pack or not!

He was also able to share a bit of information on how the pond tool works, which has been revealed to work in conjunction with the terrain tools that arrived with Get Famous in 2018.

SimGuruRomeo also confirmed many other fun pieces of information on Twitter, and some of the most interesting ones include…

  • Ponds will freeze with the Seasons expansion pack in Winter
  • Sims will NOT be able to skate on the ponds when they are frozen over
  • The new world with the expansion has various rivers your Sims can swim in
  • The new oversized crops in the expansion function slightly differently to normal gardening plants

  • There is a new system called “Village Errands” that will give your Sims tasks to complete from the locals in the village
  • You can only breed chickens
  • There is one 64×64 lot in the new world
