RollerCoaster Tycoon World will launch in Early 2016, Atari has stated on the RCT website. This is following the first of two beta weekends that the publisher has planned for the title.
Atari and developer Nvizzio have stated on their website that they wish to “ensure that RollerCoaster Tycoon World will be the best, most innovative RCT experience to date” and in order to this they have decided to “launch the game in early 2016”. A new launch date will be provided after the second beta weekend, presumably once the developer and publisher are both happy with user feedback.
Furthermore, as a result of the delay, features will be refined and the game will be pushed to be better than ever. This is a really nice thing to see as many publishers will release some games which underwhelm audiences due to it being rushed, whereas Atari are clearly passionate and taking their time to get it right.
New features will include additional Coaster Builder Functionality, using predefined lines and curves, Improved Coaster Test Mode Feedback, a fence tool and an on-demand grid.
From our experience of the first beta, we would have to agree that the coaster building tools definitely need improving as they were rough around the edges and were not the most user friendly.
The second beta weekend is due in December due to the delay. As always, we will keep you updated right here in our dedicated RCT section of the site.
