EA have released a newsletter announcing the release date of The Sims 4 and to show players the new ‘Stores’ gameplay trailer.
The newsletter also confirms that The Sims 4 is eligible for the “Origin Great Game Guarantee” which means that if you purchase through Origin and dislike the game, you can return it within 24 hours of first launching the game.

I want to know two things about Sims 4 before getting hyped:
– Will I be able to play it without having an Origin account?
– Where will digital versions be available from?
While I’m not against purchasing EA games, I’m not going to purchase anything from Origin, or play anything that requires me to log to that service; the name of the service, and how it reminds me of how EA killed Origin Systems, is one of the few grudges I still have regarding purchasing games (together with games that use two or more DRM systems simultaneously).
