I hope the bowling alley is NOT a rabbit hole. Island Paradise sounds cool, but it’s too bad that we only have the one location for vacation. Lastly, Time Travel? Really? They picked this over the Business EP idea?
I really hope the final EP (if it’s in 2014) is the much requested Business EP.
I had a feeling we’d get 3 expansions this year.
The bowling alley is not a rabbit hole, and Island Paradise allows you to run a resort and own it.. so I guess that’s business.
guys, sims 4 hasn’t even been announced yet, I have a feeling that Sims 3 will be around until at least 2015!!!!
I’m intrigued by the Island Paradise. It’s nice to get an expansion with features never used before. I’m interested to see how scuba diving works and the underwater universe. Surely mermaids are going to be the creature for that.
I think Island Paradise will include more business than we think, the survey for the EP talked about owning shops and stalls!
I bet Sims 4 will be announced at E3 2013, hence all this being announced. Then we can transition into Sims 4 in Mid 2014.
These sound great, and it is nice to hear that 2013 will have lots of Sims 3 goodies.
I suspect The Sims 4 is going to go the way of Sim City and be an online only game which means I will not be getting it. It’ll be sad as I’ve played the Sims since it first ever came out 12 years ago! How time flies!
I really don’t know why Sims having online functions is a bad thing? I’m pretty sure it wont be a case of everyone using the same hood. More like inviting friends to join your game. Whats so bad about that? I think it sounds great! I’ve always wanted to play with my mates sims. The ability to visit there homes and see there community lots would be so good!
Because:
1) Not every one can afford or get a decent Net connection.
2) Not everyone has internet access.
3) It limits when and where you can play.
4) Not everyone trusts companies like EA with their data/saved games, etc.
5) If it was like SimCity all the Net features will be forced on you whether you want them or not.
So imagine:
Getting up on a Saturday morning and finding that EA’s servers are down and stay down all weekened… no playing The Sims 4…
You want to play on your laptop on holiday, but the hotel doesn’ have/overcharges for internet access… no playing The Sims 4…
The list goes on oand on…
True, those are sound points you have made. And I agree. However I guess the series has to move on. But we are just speculating here. We dont know how this game is going to work. Hopefully there are was to play offline. But I guess if the servers were down you wouldn’t be able to load saves used in an online game; you would have to start a new one. But still having SOME online features, on paper, would be good. Plus SimCity is sorta optional with the online features, you could if you wanted, play in your own region without anybody else.
Having OPTIONAL online features would be fine, but Sim city isn’t Optional, your games HAVE to be saved online, you HAVE to be connected all the time you are playing, etc. You CAN’T play Sim City AT ALL without a permanent active internet connection, this is the problem.
In some ways I hope Sim City flops big time because of these online restrictions to send a message to EA to keep things optional…
I also hope that SimCity will flop. EA needs to learn that online only games are not something that majority wants.
As for University, Island Paradise and Time travel I’am so excited that we will have this expansions.
I actually don’t mind the online features, but that’s mainly because I have a permanent internet connection. You all do make valid points though.
On the sims 3 island paradise, will pets like dogs, cats be able to live on the boathouse?
Can’t wait for them to come out and what not!
