SimCity recently uploaded a picture on their facebook page showing a Region Shot. This is what they said in the description: “Cities don’t live in a bubble. Proof? This new region shot supports up to 16 cities that you can claim privately, with your friends, or with anyone around the world.”
Reminds me of Sims Online. But I’ve got to wonder something…
Is there a finite amount of regions you can play? I get this feeling that there will be a rush to get into the game to find the best plots of land. Unless they plan on having multiple servers, similar to an MMORPG.
It’ll be interesting to see how this works. I kinda think that this SimCity reboot will be a “testing ground” for the upcoming Sims 4. If the mulitplayer aspect proves very popular and successful for the game, then you can bet you’ll see it in Sims 4. They’ll have a good year to see how it does, since 2013 will most likely be the year that Sims 3 wraps up.

I hope not as it will ruin The Sims. 99% of fans don’t want online play, it’s just that EA know they can make more money out of people that way…
I would love online in The Sims once again, as an OPTION. So many times that myself and friends have wanted to play together since TSO closed.
