Fact: EA's gone nuts! Rumor: SP 8 Due this fall?!

BeyondSims BeyondSims Author

Either that or EU retailers have gone nuts as well. Why? Because Alex.it had listed The Sims 3: Seaside Stuff(SP8) for October 26th. That’s almost 2 months after Supernatural comes out and a few weeks or so before the rumored Seasons EP. And yes, I said HAD LISTED because they’ve now removed the listing. Let the comments begin!

Thanks to our reader Joshua for the tip!

So that Supernatural on September, Seaside on October and Seasons on November….
Either someone made a serious scheduling mistake or EA is broke and needs money lol
    BUT me likey ^^

EA must be hard up for money. 3 EPs at about 50$ each, 2 SPs at 20$ and 1 SP at 30$. And our games still crash.

3 SPs actually. But really, I think its true since wouldnt they had fix any schedule problems when Seasons started popping up? I doubt they would have let it happened for this long if it was a mistake.

    WTF? They’ve really gone nuts!!

They are definately relying on the Sims cash cow. It is smart, we will buy it if it’s worthy. I don’t think it was a stretch for them to release Seasons, because if the rumers are true, they have been working on it for quite a long time. The stuff packs are probably not hard to whip out, because it is just stuff. If there is a third world this year, I would be very surprised because that takes time and they would of had to pre-plan them.

I have to say I’m kinda looking forward to this. Season and Seaside Stuff with Supernatural and Diesle? Count me in!

Well with seaside stuff we will be able to swim in the ocean. Or at least have some more beach activities like sunbathing building sandcastles or combing beach for seashells. Did anyone watch Lucky Palms chat. They had a few lots that were built on the water somehow. It was not explained how they did it but it looked interesting. Would be cool if they took that idea and had a cruise ship as a venue.

  9. Chad Reply

Edit that to WILL WE be able to swim in the ocean.

Wasn’t there a listing for Sims 3 Fresh or something on that Hungarian site that was leaked a little while ago? Maybe it’s really Seaside and they changed the placeholder name.
Too many sites listed Seasons as an Expansion Pack not as a Stuff Pack and they all had November as release date so I think it really is true.
Usually we get an SP after a release of an EP so it would fit right into their usual schedule.

  12. Kabuto Reply

It mean no pack in 2013 because it’s the end of The Sims 3.
If we follow the Sims lifecycle (4.5 years)
    02/2000 : The Sims
    09/2004 : The Sims 2
    06/2009 : The Sims 3
The Sims 4 should be released after 09/2013
So I understand SP8 and EP8 must be the last packs, they must released them before 2013

Wow, Seaside SP sounds interesting. If it is, then it will be my first SP to get. I can’t wait for Seasons already 🙂 Maybe we will be hearing the announcement for Sims 4 sometimes in the winter or summer of 2013. I think it will be out getting ready to play sometimes in 2014 or so.

I feel sorry for the poor SimGurus having to spit out 3 EPs, 2 SPs, and 1 mega SP this year…

I wonder if this is due with ppl on forums complaining about the slowly timed releases? Either they’re broke or stepping up their game? but I dont know why ppl complain, in S1 they had 7 games in 4 years, if the rumors hold true, just EPs alone we going for #8 inside 3 yrs give or take.

Its at least the smartest thing they’ve done so far in this gen. Everything after KPST people have been asking for a while. More male clothes > Diesel Stuff, Werewolves and Magic > Supernatural, Weather > Seasons and beach stuff > Seaside Stuff. Fair enough its for money but still a smart move. I’m good for KPST and Diesel but I don’t know where I’m going to get the cash for the others now.

  17. Dentface Reply

We’re (the US) probably gonna get this on the 23rd, since the 26th is a Friday.

  18. Lille Sims Side Reply

Bring it on! In total 7 packs in a year? I like it.

  19. Janna Reply

I would rather have the WHOLE game fixed and optimized, than all this release spree. But then again…
I would also love something new that we hadn’t seen already in previous installments, but I guess we’ll have to wait for TS4 (or whatever comes from that).

  20. GamerGal Reply

Cool, that’s a lot of new stuff to introduce to game in just one year. If they are releasing all this stuff so close together then TS3 must be coming to its end. TS4 may be annouced next year after all! *happy dance*

  21. Matthy Reply

Ok, so by this point of view when TS4 will be launched? Tomorrow?

  22. Jeff Reply

Actually that makes since. A ocean beach themed sp coming out before seasons which will have more beach activities.
Could this be sims 3 refresh renamed?
Perhaps this sp will add diving boards and pool slides.

See it, want it, get it—this is the age where people want instant gratification.
The only thing that I see fit to complain about (other than the corrupt patches and the lack of premium content in the actual expansions), is that there are no expansions released to fill up the summer time—which would not be a problem if Showtime had been any good.

Ha, I knew EA couldn’t go more than half a year without releasing another SP! It just seemed too strange. So many listings leaked lately!
Seaside actually sounds really interesting, it could turn out to be my favourite SP. It’s kind of ironic that I remade The Kahuna from Stoked and moved him into a small beach hut just yesterday. I don’t remember a beach theme being in that SP poll though.

  25. Simfan28 Reply

EA cannot put the Seaside clothes and objects in the Season Pack? Why? Seaside and the seasons go all together. And one after the the other? Hope that Seasons will be very good to do that.
And 2 EP and 1 SP in 3 month? I don’t remember seeing something like that in 12 years.

    1. The Sims 3 Refresh is most likely an updated version of the base game with all of the current updates at release.
    2. This still leaves 2 EPs and 2 SPs for next year. I still say they will announce TS4 next year at E3 and release it early 2014. That would give both the Sims 2 and 3 both had/have 5 years of life before their successor emerges from the shadows.

  27. DaBoogadie Reply

I believe that The Sims 4 and Simcity will be related, possibly different ports to the same online server. Like different aspects of the same game.

EA just simply rush their games out the door. -_-

Damn, I still wanna do a lot in Sims 3… I dunno if i’m ready for Sims 4. But all I hope is for good Seasons EP. Diesel and Seaside seems good too.

  31. thesimdeej33 Reply

And then for next year it will go back to its usual pattern – 2 EP’s and 2 SP’s, for the series to end for a 2014 release of TS4

  32. Jesse James Reply

Honestly without any real confirmation what it is and how in detail it is, we won’t know. For the record, they themselves stated Stuff Packs are just that, they usually never add anything new to one, so I doubt swimming in the Ocean will be enabled in an SP.
I seriously hope SN is the redeemer for the S3 titles, and TBS is right about EPs, we still have another year, they are just getting the demands out of the way , two more before moving on.

    EA
All Game Titles ending June 1 2012
    Revenue USD $4.143 billion (2012)
Operating income USD $35 million (2012)
Net income USD $76 million (2012)
Total assets USD $5.491 billion (2012)
Total equity USD $2.458 billion (2012)
    Employees 7,645 (2012)
Yep. EA must be hard up for money or broke.

Giant companies like EA don’t “Go broke” they “suffer losses” which essentially means they didn’t make more money than last year. Although, who knows. They might be actually losing money.
As for this. I hope this means the end of The Sims 3, because if this becomes the norm, quality (what’s left of it anyways) and quantity of features and items in packs will definately take a nose dive. Rushing is never good when working with fragile code.

Apparently the people who posted above didn’t get the memo. 😀

  36. Rhiannon Reply

Oops. Mucked that up somehow. The “EA needs money or gone broke” crowd apparently didn’t get the memo. 😀 Sims 3 fans are the only people I know of who *ask* for additional game play (EP/SP) then bitch when they get it.

  37. megushta Reply

I really don’t think that they would release 2 expansion packs so close to each other. But then again it’s a possibility.

  38. Sugar Rave Reply

Either I’ve gone crazy, somebody godmodded the Matrix, or EA’s finally off their rocker!
I was hoping for at least another year or two before sims 4, give me a chance to you know, upgrade my PC? I only just bought a new one with decent specs within the last year or two… already I’m unhappy with how hot it gets while playing
    Then we’ll have to deal with re-releases and a new store and all that crap ;___;
