Pretty…it would be cool to see some of TS3’s worlds remade in this game. I can’t imagine it being too difficult to make a city look like Bridgeport or Starlight Shores.
This is just appalling. i’m most defiantly not impressed by these pics. This is the same cartoonish graphics that we saw in SimCity societies and the sims 3. I have officially lost all hope in EA especially after figuring out that SimCity 5 won’t be the same on mac as it is on PC. EA suck!
You do realize that these are early screenshots and that “these graphics are not final”. You do know what that means, right? Gameplay dev comes first, graphics last. Also, as of this moment, it’s only for PC. Please do some research before you attack Maxis.
@Demonguy23 They have said they are aiming for a tactile, “toy-like” feel to the game. You are going to be disappoint. I don’t know why expect grittier graphics. SimCity has never, ever had realistic graphics. SimCity 4 is cartoonish as heck.
I don’t care if the graphics are a bit cute, just so long as it’s moddable and the gameplay is good. The problem with Societies was that the gameplay was utter crap.
omg, looks so cheap, specially I don’t like the designs of the logos on the buildings, and the way they aren’t connected to the road… I hope the final game to be more seamless and detailed like the artworks… Also, looks like the buildings don’t have the same proportions.
@kiwi_tea the graphics in a game like this are very important… and SC Societies had also the crappy graphics not just the gameplay
@theblackscorpion well, I wonder how many people from the SimCity 4 team are still there… I think EA is using Maxis name just for marketing…
I know they are just early screenshots, but still they look so cartoonish and poor. Plus as EA never said EA could just be using the name Maxis just for marketing purposes. I had hoped that SimCity (5) would look great (even at this time in development) and just in general be great, considering the fact that Maxis was supposedly “back”, but now it appears that no matter what, my beloved old Maxis is gone and now they are just as bad as the rest of EA (my most hated -and used to be loved- gaming company).
