It’s one of EA’s many arch nemesis’s, Zynga! And G4 takes a tour of their studio. Check it out below! Please note that this post is about a rival of EA, that and tours of video game studios are just plain awesome! So no complaining about non-Sims news. Thanks!
I’m going to go ahead and complain. I didn’t follow this site for random useless information, such as what you present here. I came here for sims-oriented information.
I wouldn’t say useless. Zygna is a very huge threat to EA with all of it’s Simulation games, which IMO is good, because that means competition thus the strive for excellence HAS to happen for EA in order for them to remain at top…and I take it that it may be pretty hard for EA to do seeing as Zygna focuses on smaller-scaled games and more than likely is easier to produce (that and well, you know…EA’s track record thus far). I’m all for EA improving, so if this is what it takes, I’ll be ready for it.
Deal with it.
I agree with E. This isn’t Sims related and it’s a stretch to call it EA related so I really don’t care about it and don’t think it should be featured…
Whilst this is considered a Sims fansite, it’s also Jud’s personal blog. If he gives the OK on something, then it can be posted. Not everything on this site will be EA or Sims related. If you don’t like it, there are plenty of other Sim Fansites out there that you can use for news.
For E and Tina.
The people at Zynga look really easy-going and passionate about their work and the games they create. It makes you wanna play the games! hehe
I hope EA can revert back to being about the love of the sims and stop pushing all these crazy store deals and unpolished games, sucking more money out of their fans. Maybe if I were rich, these things wouldn’t have bothered me, I dont know. But anyway! 🙂 Love the post!
We are a real fan site but this is also Jud’s personal blog. As a fan site, we’ve been around longer than the other sites and we are also act as a hub for ALL Sims news and even stuff about EA and sometimes a rival of theirs as it can and will effect EA in one way or another. I suggest that you leave this site if you don’t like it or if you stay, do NOT spam our post telling people to go to another site. That is, unless you want to be perma banned. This goes for you and anyone else who has a problem with this site and who spams for other sites. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!
I personally love coming here for all types of news, no matter if it’s Sims-related or not. I actually think that having other types of articles is a breath of fresh air – especially with the influx of Pets-related items as of late, lol! Also, there have been times when Jud or theblackscorpion have posted something totally non-Simish, but I found it informative and/or had no idea it existed – and was glad about that. This is however, my own opinion, and if I get flamed for it then so be it. I love Simprograms, have been coming here for ages and will continue to do so and support the site – no matter they post up. Cheers Jud and the rest of the staff!
Okay, I registered just to have my say on this.
SimPrograms in one of my most visited sites, with daily visits to check on the latest Sims news. I am ONLY interested in news on the Sims.
However, I really don’t find it THAT difficult to read a title, realise it’s something I’m not interested in, and move on to the next article.
It goes for all articles on this site. There are going to be posts about the Sims that I’m going to skip over, purely because I’m not interested (countless reviews for TS3 Pets? I read only the ones from sites I know, and ignore the rest.) This doesn’t mean I need to complain in a non constructive manner on the posts I don’t read however.
When something is presented to you free of charge, on somebody else’s website, take what you’re given and be grateful there is someone dedicated enough to compile it all without asking anything in return.
As has already been mentioned, use filters, use your search function, ignore posts you aren’t interested in, but don’t lack gratitude for the amazing people who dedicate their spare time (and more!) to this site.
Now, constructive criticism would be fine I’d imagine. Saying something like “perhaps you should institute an easier to use filter system, so every time I visit I only see the posts about TS3 and expansion pack rumours, for example.” That would have been much more appropriate.
To the admins, as a long time lurker, and first time poster, thank you for EVERYTHING you do. I come here for Sims related news, and along the way I learn interesting things about the world outside EA, such as this piece.
Please continue doing what you do. The users you wish to have, ones who are grateful for what you do, ones who visit every day, wouldn’t change a thing that you do.
I’m not disaproving the post though.
But i want to add my coins to the topic itself.
Zygna. First of all: what’s with the company name? it good for company who creats Zuma, or Solitaire, something like this,
but real threat to EA, IMHO it never be like that.
What can they produce? cheap graphics, and awfull game reality? dandy-like games? yes.
Don’t get me wrong – i do like dandy-games and other stuff from 90’s but today is not the 90′ its almost 2012, we almost reach the stars, we developed miniaturization and virtual computers which can handle realistic top-graphics, we have awesome cpus memory-chips and other hardware, but for what? playing such games as Zygna creates? lol. And this company will be dead
cuz i don’t see any development in their games. My younger sister plays some games like this, but she is 5 years old, and i don’t see much people who are older. Concerning to Social games, people of my age in my country will play LA or AION or EVE online, but this? Oo It was second of all.
Third point is that there is names, which were developed through years of creating goood games, high-quality and other stuff.
Like EA games, Maxis (same EA lol but still), BioWare, LucasArts, Valve – so i think people will still buy games from companies they do know, not the companies which just started and not even known by people. Yes, maybe Zygna’s gmes are played and have lot’s of customers, but seriously do you remember all the companies who produced online games? I’m playing 4 online games, i do know only one company the CCP who did the EVE. But i don’t remember others, because of “what for” question lol
Everything upper is just my opinion, as a gamer, and a person who plays a lot of different games, and chat with oter people, so i do have some local-not-wide statistics lol
P.S. sorry for my english, i’m not native =)
Sorry, not Zygna but Zynga. Really what’s with the name? XD
I have no problem skipping a post. I just have a problem to HAVE to skip the post. If I’m going to do that you might as well just separate the PERSONAL from the SIMS, just like you did with Spore and Sims. Now Sims and Personal are mixed together. You can take this suggestion or leave it, I don’t mind.
E-: we have category filters on the sidebar. Feel free to bookmark the section of the games you care most about (i.e. The Sims 3)…and you’ll only see news for that section. That was added for people that want to filter out content for a specific genre/game. 🙂 The main page is the hub that combines them all together.
