not at all, it’s to help pass the time between now and when Pets is released. That way you’ll have something related to Pets to look forward to everyday. it’s nice of them to do this 🙂
I am not at all certain about it, but I’ve seen mention of a full pet makeover station, which I assume works like the body sculptor for sims — you can take a pet back into CAS with it. And I think it may be a lifetime reward, but I am not at all sure about either of those things 😉
I think that SimFans have alpha version of The Sims 3 Pets.
