SimTimes uncovered the front and back cover art for The Sims 3 Barnacle Bay. We are still left to wonder if there will be an installation disc. All signs on the back of the box point that there is one included (not to mention it does say Windows/Mac DVD-ROM software on the front), but in the fine print it says something about an access code and how it will expire in March 2012….guess we shall have to hold off a bit longer to confirm this as a fact.
The Sims 3 Barnacle Bay will retail for $20 and is set to appear in stores on March 8th.
Maybe you use the disc to run the installer it, but you need to enter the access code to actually install it?
So after March 2012 you can’t reinstall this?
I think it’s time for me to reconsider playing the Sims anymore. They are just spoiling it now…
The game is full of bugs.
The Stuff Packs are becoming a rip off.
The Store is becoming the be all of EA’s plans.
The game lacks features that they are determined to hold out on adding (weather/Pets) that make it less fun too play.
EA are finally getting over greedy with the franchise…
Oh and of course there’s the fact that Sims can’t visit other Cities, so to play this you’d have to either create all new Sims or sacrifice their ties with their existing City… lame…
We only play one City each, both made by ourselves in the CaW, so this is a waste of space apart form any new objects.
FIX THE DAMN BUGS EA!!!!
Why would anyone pay $20 for something they can buy online for $16.50?
It apparently comes with extra items.
… like what? Pirtate Theme? They are probably already included in the store version..
Oh I can’t wait for this (sarcasm)…
I just can’t wait till they do something ridiculous.. I just can’t wait! Will Wright is probably turning in his bed now (I can’t say Grave can I? He ain’t dead)
But why oh why do people keep buying this stuff that’s such a rip off?
If only they would stop then EA would get the message and kick things up a gear!
All I can say is the folks at EA must be a pretty soulless bunch sitting there trying to think up ways to screw us over!
I only buy expansion packs… and occasionally a stuff pack if I get a giftcard to get it for free… because you know, I’d never waste actual money on those things.
As far as the store goes, I admit I succumbed a couple months ago, but after store shit (pardon my language) no longer worked on my game at all, I couldn’t give a flying fudge, I had an epiphany that the store content is completely useless and I can play perfectly without it.
For that, I thank you EA. I thank you for showing me how pointless your store shit is.
I think it’s time to let everyone know what is going on with EA by posting all these news to Facebook+Twitter…
btw…1 more to add…a well…store stuff packed into a disc so disc collector’s will buy it?
HEY EA, WHY NOT PACK A DISC CALLED “THE SIMS 3 STORE ITEMS PT1”?!
The Store items are generally rubbish anyway. The clothes tend to be enabled for all categories even when they are clearly meant to be swimwear/formalwear/athleticwear etc, and some of them, from what I’ve seen, exhibit extensive clipping and gaps that would make payscam artist Peggy blush!
I still have 700 points sitting there on my account. There’s simply nothing worth “purchasing”, and many of these items were clearly meant to be in the original game anyway.
As for the Stuff Packs? Well, they’ve always been a ripoff, which is why I’ll never buy them. There’s far too many free sites out there offering original creations whose quality that far surpass the generic design-by-committee crap EA puts out.
The only expansion pack I’m interested in now is any that introduces weather. Once that pack’s out, I’ll be done with the game. I certainly won’t be sticking around for TS4.
This is off topic, but I’m wondering if maybe there will only be one Sims 3 expansion a year now, because EA has started this Sims Medieval line…Will there be a ‘double’ expansion pack this fall, so they can charge 60 dollars, instead of 30? I hope not!!
THIS IS SO RIGHT!!!!
