Luckily I’m yet to become a victim but I have read that many other fans are. If you see that you have been tagged in a Sims 3 picture, whatever you do, do NOT click the link that asks you to install “The Sims 3 Facebook Application“. It passes itself off as an official application by EA but in reality, does nothing but send you spam and more application requests. I expect it to be removed soon, but in the meantime I’m giving you a heads up in case you happen to get any odd message on Facebook about this app.
Link to the spam application (DO NOT JOIN OR ADD TO YOUR PROFILE!)
Also, change your passwords just in case!
Its not even mostly Sims 3. Majority of the pics I’ve seen come through my wall are Sims 1 caps, with a few Sims 2 ones. Sims 1 should be a big red flag to existing sims players
EA’s been mean to us these last few months, Are you sure this is not created by them? 😛
LOL @ simillion!
If it passed itself off as an official EA application, prevented you from running your game, disabled your CD/DVD drives, and shut off your firewall/antivirus…I’d swear it was the return of Securom! 😉
Thanks for the warning. I’ve been tagged twice, but have not clicked the link. It made no sense to me.
