GameSpot previews ‘The Sims 3 World Adventures’ and gets pwned by Mummies!

New details on the first expansion pack are incoming right now, thanks to GameSpot’s preview on The Sims 3 World Adventures!  The coolest detail of them all?  Mummies!  That’s right, Mummies will be introduced in the game, attacking our Sims if they get close to their precious relics and potientally turning them into mummies as well!  Not only that, we also are provided with a few new pictures.  Have a look below.

As for the facts, here’s what I’ve compiled from their writeup in an easy to read list:

• Only 3 locations will be available (Egypt, China and France) but they are huge!
• You can either travel by purchasing a plane ticket or thru your career
• Contains a mini-storyline.  Greedy corporation wants to bulldoze these locations thus setting traps, you can either side with the company or the community to save them.  This gives the game a roleplaying game feeling.
• Use your journal to keep track of relics, puzzles, areas you visited, achievements and view how many ‘visa’ points your Sim has left – which determines how long they can visit (well, for everything else there’s Mastercard 😛 )
• Tomb has many traps, skills will help pass these.
• Mummies are introduced.  If your Sim gets into a battle with a mummy and your sim lacks the ‘Martial Arts’  skill (new to Adventures), your sim will come down with the ‘Mummy’s Curse’.  This will kill your Sim within 2 weeks unless you visit the Spinx and plead your case.  Not only that, but Sims can become mummies by spending a night in a sarcophagus.  You will then move much slower and die if your sim sets on fire.  Benefits are that your strength increases and your needs become limited.  Cool thing is…if you die – you turn into a ghost mummy.  That’s a first 😛
• Marry and bring home sims from the ‘Adventure’ locations
• 3 new skills:  Martial Arts which is learned in China, Photography, and Nectar Making which originates in France.  3 new traits are also added.
