The Sims 3 iPhone WallpaperWhile most iPhone games are built by tiny teams in a few months, EA has had its team working on the title since November, 2007. That’s an eternity for an iPhone game.

“It’s a huge initiative with our best team inside EA Mobile,” said Justin Taber, the game’s producer.

Sims 3 is a test on whether a big game with a big budget can work on the iPhone, whose audience typically favors games that don’t carry major brand names and are homegrown on the iPhone platform. Will EA succeed with its Sims 3 brand recognition, or will something like Tapulous’ Tap Tap Revenge continue to rule the iPhone game market?

Wait a second…An iPhone game covering nearly 2 years?  Something screams lies here…I remembered that during the first video showing TS3 (It was the Apple event for the iPhone 3.0 OS if I recall correctly) the demonstrator mentioned that the build they were playing with was only a two week build.  I smell a lie!

On the other hand, it’s good to know that the game will still make its June 2nd debut.  I was worried because I thought it was coming out when Apple releases their 3.0 software.  However, the game will run on the iPhone’s current OS but the Store will not work until Apple releases 3.0.
